A/W 2018

1. Artisan Textures and Metallic accents

Key aspects of Autumn trends this year are artisan textures and metallic accents. Think hand finished textures, organic shapes and rich materials like ceramics, wood and rustic metals. Vases, centrepieces and mirrors are a wonderful way to add some depth to your interiors and try this trend. Think about the colour palette in your living room and choose pieces to complement the overall style of your room. For example, to add a sense of warmth to your space opt for rich warm copper colours when it comes to metallic accents. If you are looking for a crisp, refreshing feel, then cool tones such as silver or chrome will work well. Our favourite aspect of this trend has to be the textures! Textures add interest, depth and life to a room. We are in love with our new Alina vase. It ticks all the right boxes, with a fabulous geometric carved pattern that catches the light beautifully.

2. Bold Colour

When it comes to wall colours, deep grey/black colours are a clear trend for the A/W ’18, but we’re also seeing a variety of other bold tones. Rich purples, teals and navy blues can make a real impact and transform your space for the Autumn season. If you have a smaller living room you may want to opt for an accent wall as darker colours can make a space feel smaller. However, a full dark colour can work wonderfully in a larger room. If you have a neglected corner why not add a block of colour, a reading lamp and your favourite chair to create a cosy and inviting reading area!

3. Statement Furniture

Statement furniture is a sure way to up your interior style instantly. Invest in stunning accent pieces that work with the rest of the room and stand out for all the right reasons. One thing to remember is that statement furniture doesn’t mean fussy furniture. A statement look can be achieved by simply playing around with size and scale. Our Prague pouf is a fantastic example of this. It has a minimalist retro modern look in a soft teal colour but it’s stand out feature is the size! At 100cm in diameter, it’s ideal to seat a couple of people or to lounge on with a book and will certainly lift your interior style to a new level. Accent chairs are also a wonderful option to add something special to your interiors. You can create an eclectic, individual look for your room just by adding some really interesting armchairs. Our Slope chair is right on trend for this season and yet it’s retro elegance means it will have lasting appeal, well beyond this season.

4. Velvet

This one is simple – think velvet everything! A/W 2018 brings with it opulence, luxury and warmth with this next trend. We all love to get cosy for winter and the best way to do this is to introduce rich textures to keep cosy on long winter evenings. Embrace this trend with stunning velvet furniture like our Ava rocking chair in plush pink velvet. This piece is coming soon for Autumn and we can’t wait! Our Loana sofa is another wonderful way to embrace this interiors movement and transform your space. Or combine two trends in one with our stunning Fly Chaise Longue in charcoal grey velvet.  If you aren’t quite ready to commit to velvet furniture, you can still try out this trend by adding some velvet style cushions to your living room or bedroom. Play around with colours and try our new favourite combo; blush and black or if you love a pop of colour you will fall in love with our Spice block colour velvet cushion.

5. Modern Minimalist

If your style is more minimalist, you will love the refreshing furniture styles emerging for A/W 2018. The modern minimalist trend is all about thoughtfully designed pieces that add function and style to your home using natural wood tones and clean lines. Inspired by Scandinavian design our collection of intuitively designed ash tone pieces are truly stunning.

6. Prints that pop

It’s out with the plain and in with the prints this Autumn! This season we are seeing vibrant prints what will re-invigorate your home. From geometric patterns to magical motifs, prints are a great way to add a new look to your interiors. In the living room mix block colour cushions with detailed geometric patterns. To ensure the pattern works well in the overall room, choose prints that mirror accent colours in the rest of your décor. In the kitchen go wild and experiment with vibrant patterns that will brighten up your dinner table even on the darkest of evenings. Our Malmo collection is the perfect choice to bring bright and bold patterns into your home. When setting the table, layer these beautiful plates with a classic white for a really striking tabletop look.  This seasons dinnerware patterns also include charming motifs. Our Hummingbird collection is a lovely set that is reminiscent of a secret garden. It will certainly brighten up your dinner time or use the Hummingbird mugs for hot chocolates and tea!
