Strictly Business follows the fortunes of six small Irish businesses as they endeavour to make it big or even bigger on the local and ultimately global stage. They won’t be alone in their quests. Fashion designer and entrepreneur Sonya Lennon will use her commercial know-how, her experience as a business mentor and her enviable contacts book to point these companies in the right direction.
Each week brings a new company and each company brings a new set of problems – problems that the owners believe may be standing in the way of success. It’s Sonya’s challenge to sort it out and she’s the right pair of eyes for the job. She’ll also need to tap into her little black book of business contacts, drafting in top Irish experts like Tom Keogh (CEO, Keogh’s Crisps), Colette Twomey (CEO, Clonakilty Black Pudding Company) and Fionn Davenport (Guide Book author Lonely Planet & Travel Journalist).
Series one features a veritable ‘smorgasbord’ of businesses covering food, interiors, tourism, fashion and weight-loss. They’ve all got different issues but they all share the same ambition – to succeed. But the journey of Strictly Business will be tough, the truth will often hurt, the interventions sting and Sonya’s advice may fall on (selective) deaf ears. With only a few months to turn these companies around it’s a huge challenge and the only way to see if Sonya and her team can pull it off is to tune in from Wednesday 6th February 2019, 7.30pm, RTE One.
