There’s something about this time of year that makes us want to get organised.
New school bags. New lunch boxes. New water bottles. New routines. We buy all the things we think will make the mornings run a little smoother; and then, somewhere around October, discover that not all of them quite live up to the promise.
At Meadows & Byrne, we stock Thermos because it has long been one of those names associated with things that are simply built to work. But we wanted to know: does it actually deliver? Over the weekend, we put our Thermos products through a very real-life test.

We filled them with hot water, took them with us and left them to do their thing.
Ten hours later, the water was still hot.
Not lukewarm. Not it’ll do. Hot.
And when you think about the long stretch of real life ahead – school runs and sidelines, early starts and late finishes, commutes, weekend matches, walks and days when you seem to spend more time in the car than anywhere else – that matters.

Buy it once. Expect it to work.
We’re becoming more thoughtful about the things we bring into our homes and our lives.
Does it last? Will we actually use it? Does it do what it says it will do?
Because good design isn’t just about looking beautiful. Sometimes good design is pouring a hot drink on a freezing sideline hours after you left the house that morning.
It’s the flask you reach for every Saturday.
The bottle that survives the school year.
The thing you don’t have to replace because it simply keeps doing its job.
And perhaps that’s the best kind of investment of all.

Ready for the season ahead
There’s a long winter of busy mornings, school runs, sidelines, commutes and adventures ahead of us.
We can’t promise they’ll all run smoothly.
But we can tell you this:
Ten hours after we filled our Thermos, the water was still hot.

We tested it, so you don’t have to.
And this one is coming into autumn with us.
