A healthy and delicious food, hummus is one of our favourites! Perfect as a snack or in lunches, it is a great way to get back into healthy eating habits after summer.
Opting to make homemade hummus is a wonderful choice as you can mix up the ingredients to suit your tastes and add some seasonal twists!
We adore autumnal flavours so we just had to share this simple hummus recipe that all the family will love!
Ingredients
- 425g tinned chickpeas (drained)
- 200g roasted pumpkin (peeled, seeded, cubed and roasted)
- 1 small butternut squash (peeled, seeded, cubed and roasted)
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground oregano
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine the chickpeas, pumpkin, butternut squash and olive oil in the food processor.
- Process until the mixture is smooth.
- Add the rest of the ingredients into a small bowl and mix.
- Add the remaining mixture to the hummus and stir.
Serve in a large Charly Bowl with a sprinkling of pumpkin seeds or chickpeas on top for added crunch!
